I offer a highly-competent professional solution to present, and possibly future, problems. You are  prompt to immediately explore the details of  my areas of competence, as outlined in successive pages.

I offer Acceptance testing:
Present day radiological equipment, when new, costs anywhere between $100,000 and $ 2 million. The supplier, under the terms of the contract, provides a highly-trained installer, whose responsibility is to install the equipment and to ensure that it operates to meet the company guidelines. But these guidelines do not necessarily coincide with the requirements of the customer. This is why the intercession of an independent third-party, the medical physicist, is required to ensure that the investment of the customer and the requirements of the radiologist are satisfied. The knowledge that such a person is to be involved ensures that the installer does his best work, because he knows that he will be recalled if the installation is unsatisfactory.  Further, the physicist can point out deficiencies in the original design of the equipment, and ensure that the OEM corrects them. His interaction with the radiologists makes sure that their interests are met. In addition, his measurements provide a set of data that may be considered to be  a benchmark for the future operation of the equipment, and provide a baseline for routine quality control. If required, he can then provide a protocol  for the long-term QC  by members of the department based on the results of the acceptance testing.
Acceptance testing by a fully-accredited medical physicist is a good investment, in that it reassures the radiologist, the administration, and eventually the patient that  provincial and international standards are being met in the acquisition of the unit.
In this regard, we offer the services of  ACR , CAR and CAMP  accredited medical physicists with many years of training and experience in the field of radiology (radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography and CT) and nuclear medicine.

I offer Training:
Modern radiological  equipment is a complex admixture of physics
( high voltage circuits, x-ray generation, filtration, dosimetry), computer control and display, and engineering (patient support and positioning). It must be installed in such a way as to provide the best images, with a minimum radiation hazard to both patient and operator.
Both the radiologist and the operator must have a clear understanding of its operation, and how to obtain the best results from it on a routine basis. Like most complicated machines, its continued operation can result in a slow decline in function with the passage of time, with the result that the quality of the image decreases almost imperceptibly. For this  reason, a program of Quality Assurance should be initiated, with objective tests being performed on a routine basis.
The professional imaging physicist can provide, not only the protocol for such a QA program, but also the training of the departmental personnel who are delegated to carry it out. This is a good investment, in that it detects problems at an early stage, and allows corrections to be made economically.

I offer Assistance in all phases of the equipment lifetime cycle.
